Nobody in Italy

“Postmodernity” with the end of meta-narratives and absolute truths, with deconstruction, multiplicity of voices and globalization has left us submerged in the loneliness of a contemporary life. In a fast, noisy, crowded word. In my photography series Nobody, I capture this feeling of remoteness of a world that moves at full speed and at the same time has left us submerged in absences.

Nobody contemplates beauty in an intimate and patient way. They are images of ideal places for an encounter, but there are never people in them. They are charming scenarios where perspective and light are the real protagonists. There is an inherent melancholy in their composition. Just as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, in the same way loneliness or absence is in the perception of the observer.

The images of Nobody in Italy were taken in and around the Tuscany region.

These black and white photographs are printed on adhesive vinyl, paste on glass and their frame is a white wooden box. When illuminated, the shadow produces a subtle sensation of third dimension.
